Deb Goldberg Visits Democratic Caucuses
Campaign Expresses Confidence Heading Into June Convention

Boston, MA — Deb Goldberg, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, visited with caucus-goers and energized supporters, as they elected delegates to the state’s Democratic Convention in June. Sharing her vision for getting Massachusetts moving again, Goldberg met with voters on Saturday in West Roxbury, Needham, Revere, Roslindale, and Brookline. She will also attend the democratic caucus in Framingham on Sunday.

“Saturday was a great day for me and my campaign. I’m confident we had a successful day at the caucuses,” she said. “The Democrats I spoke with—whether in Needham, West Roxbury, or Revere—all agreed we need a Lieutenant Governor who cares about the people of this state and knows what it will take to get Massachusetts moving again. I have the background and experience to get the job done.”

More than 40 legislators and local officials have endorsed Goldberg’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor, citing her strong business background and practical, innovative ideas and commitment to giving Massachusetts families something more to look forward to.

Deb Goldberg, a fifth generation resident of Massachusetts, has what it takes to get the state moving again. Goldberg, whose family founded Stop & Shop, learned how to run a company with 50,000 employees who needed stable jobs to support their families. Even with a small 1% profit margin, they still managed to give high quality health insurance to all employees—full-timers and even part-timers.

Goldberg was elected to the Brookline Board of Selectmen in 1998 and worked to revitalize the town’s commercial areas. As Chairman from 2002 until 2004, she was responsible for the town’s $190 million annual budget. Under her leadership in tough economic times, Brookline, with a population of 58,000, maintained a strong financial position and added police and firefighters each year without costly overrides. Goldberg, 51, lives in Brookline with her husband, Michael Winter, and their two teenaged children, Evan and Meredith.
